This portal, however, was located at the very center of the Legion's presence on the Broken Isles: the Tomb of Sargeras. With all the ancient artifacts in hand, the portal facilitating the demons' assault on Azeroth could finally be sealed shut permanently, ending the immediate threat to the world. The recovery of the final Pillar of Creation, the Eye of Aman'thul, also marked a new milestone in the fight against the Legion's invasion as a whole. The outcome of the siege of the Nighthold in Suramar City saw the conclusion of the Nightfallen rebellion, the death of the warlock Gul'dan, and the failure of the Burning Legion's plans in the region. The mortals' primary goal remains the Tomb of Sargeras, the focal point of the Burning Legion's invasion, where they seek to sever the Legion's link the Twisting Nether. Under the direction of Archmage Khadgar of the Kirin Tor, this new force successfully threw back the demons' assault on Dalaran and secured a foothold on the Broken Shore itself.īased from the position of Deliverance Point, the Armies of Legionfall quickly set about engaging the Legion throughout the Broken Shore, securing further gains against Kil'jaeden's forces. In preparing for the imminent assault on the Legion-held Broken Shore, representatives from all of the various Class Orders met to form the Armies of Legionfall, a new unified faction dedicated to thwarting the Burning Legion. The assault, triggered by a Legion attack on Dalaran, echoed a similar effort launched at the war's outbreak one which ultimately resulted in a decisive victory for the Burning Legion. The Assault on Broken Shore (or the Legionfall Campaign) is a battle between the Burning Legion and a united force of Azeroth's defenders, centered around the Broken Shore region of the Broken Isles, as a part of the larger war in the Broken Isles. “The Legion will not win this day! The actions of Illidan Stormrage lead to the formation of a rift between Azeroth and the planet Argus, making the latter visible in Azeroth's sky.Last major demonic foothold on the Broken Isles crushed.Legionfall forces assault the Tomb of Sargeras, forcing shut the Legion's gateway to Azeroth and slaying Kil'jaeden himself. For the quest, see Assault on Broken Shore. For the first battle, see Battle for the Broken Shore. Yep, totally not a bad person, just a slave to fate like everyone else. This article is about the second battle that happened on the Broken Shore. I think the Jailer convinced her that everything bad that happened was part of "the purpose" and that she should help him destroy this thing that totally exists and if she could please pay no attention to the fact that the Jailer is a massive asshole and controls an entire torture realm and probably has no ulterior motivations or a god complex. She wants people to be able to choose their own fate instead of being slaves to destiny, but given whats been going on that seems to be the system already in place for the most part. Sylvanas's motivation seems to revolve around her changing the universe because her fate sucked. Basically "this is fine, don't check behind the moving curtain over there, that would upset the purpose!". The Attendants in Oribos keep talking about "the purpose" and how the Arbiter made this great plan on how the Shadowlands works, but considering that the Arbiter was artificially made after the Jailer was exiled sort of indicates that the Eternal Ones didn't give them the full picture when they created them (or reprogrammed them idk) and that "the purpose" is just a lie made up to keep things ticking along so to speak. One of the themes of Shadowlands seems to be that fate is a lie.
